Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Expert-level knowledge and experience with network architecture, enterprise solutions, and scalability.
In depth knowledge of core networking technologies/protocols: TCP/IP, Routing Protocols (OSPF, BGP, etc), Load Balancing, SIP/VOIP, QOS, 802.11, VPN/IPSec, WAN Acceleration, SD-WAN, DHCP/DNS, Spanning Tree, Firewalls, Carrier-grade Circuits (MPLS, VPLS, Wave Fiber), RADIUS/802.1x, APIs.
Very strong written, oral communication and presentation skills.
Expertise with a breadth of network technologies, including routers, firewalls, wireless solutions, multicast solutions, WAN technologies, VoIP platforms, Contact Centers, etc.
Ability to work and effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to maintain current working knowledge of related hardware, software, solutions, and processes.
Experience participating in large, complex projects.
Experience working with third parties (contractors/consultants).
Ability to function as the senior tier of support for network-related issues and escalate with vendors.
Understanding of cloud networking, management platforms, and cloud/internet exchanges.

Work Experience and/or Education:
BS/BA in Information Technology or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

8 – 10 years technical experience in a large-scale enterprise network environment.
Serves as a lead engineer for developing, implementing, and supporting enterprise network solutions. The engineer will drive Information Technology department strategies through development of complex technological solutions, with multiple dependencies. Provide systems expertise and technical support requiring in-depth understanding in one or more specialized disciplines or platforms.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Based on broad objectives from Management, technical staff and end users, design solutions to complex technical problems. Identify, define and analyze complex problems and provide solutions which require a high level of ingenuity and innovativeness.
Recommend strategies for the continued improvements in the reliability and scalability of assigned network systems/platforms (includes trouble ticket resolution and network service availability). Responsible for developing appropriate monitoring tools for assigned platforms.
Review, recommend, coordinate and implement designs and analysis related to specific area of responsibility. Prepare plans for installation or migration of new systems. (includes network analysis, design, and build phases).
Ensure that departmental and standards are documented, designed, distributed and updated on a regular basis for assigned applications/systems/platforms. Implements IT Security best practices.
Ensure assigned applications/systems/platforms are recoverable in the event of a disaster, emergency or testing sequence. Maintain DR consistency within IT and ensure adherence to corporate DR plans.
Manage in-scope networks and systems in accordance with the formal change management procedures and processes.
