The Actuarial Analyst III completes very diverse and complicated projects and performs very complex actuarial studies.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Provides actuarial support for the Value Assessment Team through modeling financial impacts of drug formulary changes for all lines of business including Medicare, Medicaid and Commercial

  • Support regulatory drug formulary reporting and filing requirements for Medicare and Medicaid

  • Assist clinical and pharmacy in strategy development and financial costing of scenarios related to formulary strategy discussions

  • Understand and model financial projections related to formulary designs and formulary changes

  • Perform supporting analysis for drug trending, inflation reporting, growth and market shifting assumptions and Cost of Care financial impacts

  • Develop drug models to evaluate cost and savings projections

  • Seek and provide peer review to ensure high quality client deliverables

  • Solicit credentialed actuarial review where appropriate

  • Develop and Improve general skills, knowledge and exposure

  • Mentor and delegate work to other actuarial students, analysts and specialists

Qualifications


  • Requires a BS/BA degree; required to have passed at least four Society of Actuaries (SOA) actuarial exams; at least 3 years related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • Good communication skills, both written and oral

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)

  • Client presentation skills required

  • Experience in SAS or other query and programming skills a plus
