Salary: £8,960 to £15,360 (2 days a week)

Keys Group require an Speech and Language Therapist to work two days per week based at their site in Walton, Liverpool. The role will be working across three services: a SEN School, a day service for adults aged 19-25 and a structured day service for adults from 19 upwards. Working in conjunction with the Occupational Therapist you will provide advice to the staff team and direct therapy to children and adults with a range of complex needs including; autism, aspergers syndrome, downs syndrome and other multiple learning difficulties.

You will be required to undertake all aspects of speech and language therapy duties, working within the ethical framework provided by the rules of professional conduct. As part of the role you will provide advice, information and training to staff and other professionals regarding issues relevant to the client group.

As a Speech and Language Therapist, your role will involve:

  • Utilising your expertise of evidence based practice, clinical assessments and intervention options as well as reasoning and intervention skills to include motor sensory cognitive/perceptual assessments.
  • To develop and implement speech and language therapy treatment and programmes and to measure and evaluate outcomes
  • Exhibit clinical effectiveness through the use of evidence-based practice and outcome measures
  • Managing your caseload independently and devise and deliver a suitable treatment programme, working on a one-to-one basis or in groups, to enable each young person to improve as much as possible
  • review and revise the programme as appropriate

Person Specification:

  • A health care professional council licence
  • Experience of working as a speech and language therapist (will consider newly qualified)
  • Excellent assessment and observations skills
  • Knowledge of special education needs and autism spectrum disorder
  • A pro-active and a caring approach
