Our client, is well known for their entrepreneurial success investing in coal assets in Australia and has a history of creating significant shareholder value and attracting major funding. They have been involved in several business acquisitions and development of highly profitable mines.
About the Role
As a C-Suite CFO you will collaborate with the CEO on financial modelling and analysis for acquisitions, feasibility, and new business opportunities. This will be a transactional role where you will be the key driving force to secure the future of this new venture. This will be for a 3-4 month contract.
Duties & Responsibilities
You will be the key driving force to secure the future of this new venture by:
Facilitating and developing the vision, strategy and plans needed to ensure the future success of new ventures
Validating the profitability thesis of the acquisitions and help evaluate the risks
Review and provide market analysis to provide strategic insight to new project feasibilities
Leading financing initiatives, supporting shareholders through interactions with merger/acquisition candidates, acquirers, and with sourcing capital.
Advising on key business planning assumptions, trade-offs, and opportunities
Ensuring proper risk management and compliance to governance and legislation
Financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role you will have the following: -
Post-graduate or chartered qualification such as CA, CPA, CFA and/or MBA
Accounting and Financial competence
Experience in Mergers and Acquisitions
Strong leadership skills
Extensive stakeholder engagement and management.
Governance and regulation
Experience in Settlements, Asset Services and Tax
Impressive presentation skills
Experience in the mining and investment sector.
