About our Intensive Care Unit at Monash Health

Monash Health is an impressive organisation of 7 public hospitals, 21 community health sites, 5 aged care facilities, university affiliated international research and tertiary education. We provide healthcare for the entire lifespan from pre-birth to palliative care and all stages in between.

Monash Medical Centre - Adult ICU located at Clayton is a 25-bed tertiary referral centre. We specialise in Cardiothoracic, Neurosurgery, neurology, obstetrics, general medicine and surgery. We have over 1900 admissions per year; 600 of these are elective surgery and 1300 unplanned/emergency admissions.

About the Role

Reporting to the Nurse Manager and the Director of Clinical Operations the Associate Nurse Manager is a leadership role responsible for the clinical and operational outcomes and the management of staff. With exceptional communication and proven people management skills, you will lead by example and motivate and inspire the team. Working across a rotating roster (24 hours / 7 days) we have Permanent and fixed term and Full or Part time positions available.

Bringing your passion and genuine interest for Critical Care nursing along with demonstrated experience in high standards of patient care will ensure your success within our team. You will have access to resources to support your work in ICU enabling you to advance your career whilst demonstrating nursing excellence.

Looking to grow our dedicated & knowledgeable team, we are wanting you to bring your demonstrated skills and experience within a Critical Care skillset to look after our patients.

About You

We are seeking candidates with demonstrated Critical Care experience; you will hold a Post Graduate diploma in Critical Care, a Masters Degree, and demonstrated management and leadership skills.

As someone with a strong work ethic, self-motivation and personal values your contribution with the team will support each other and our organisation to be leaders in our field with exciting and progressive treatment and care.

You are adaptable to a changing environment as we work together to deliver first class service. Alongside your caring and engaging manner, you have a positive work attitude, strong communication skills and a strong people-person focus allowing you to engage with our patients and their families.

What you need:

  • Current AHPRA registration

  • Critical Care Post Graduate Diploma and Masters degree

  • Previous ICU and management experience is essential.

  • Australian working Rights

  • Current Employee Working with Children Check
