The Senior Policy Adviser, IGR (Intergovernmental Relations) delivers timely, high quality advice to the Minister, Chief Executive and other senior officials in relation to national reforms in the school education, higher education and early childhood education and care portfolios.
This role is responsible for delivering policy, advice and research within broadly defined guidelines linked to education and early childhood development priority initiatives, strategic goals and objectives that affect state and national reforms and policy. The Senior Policy Officer, IGR analyses information and contributes to the ongoing monitoring and quality assurance of the work of the Secretariat, including development and maintenance of effective networks with key stakeholders across the Department for Education, external agencies and organisations to ensure the best quality outcomes are achieved.
Essential – Tertiary qualification in a related discipline or equivalent experience.
Desirable – An appropriate tertiary qualification in law, economics, public policy, early childhood or education.
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department of Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. A current DHS child-related employment screening will be recognised as a WWCC until it expires. The incumbent will be required to undertake Responding to Abuse & Neglect (RAN) full day/online training course every three years.
